Sexton (Church Custodian)

Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated and responsible team player who is well versed in using cleaning equipment as well as an in-depth knowledge of standard cleaning procedures. The successful candidate will take pride in a job well done and be through in their procedures and practices.

Responsibilities:

Cleaning and maintaining Church Building’s which includes sweeping, moping, dusting & vacuuming
Maintaining the Church Grounds which includes mowing, w**d whacking and trash removal
Scrubbing and sanitizing restroom and kitchen, including replenishing supplies and removal of trash
Handling light facility repairs including changing fluorescent lights, installation/removal of Air Conditioners, etc.
Keeping custodial room and closets clean and organized
Removing snow and ice from walkways and parking lots
Safely use cleaning chemicals.
Ensure inventory of cleaning supplies is ample and replenish as needed
Proven ability to work for long hours on one ‘s feet.
Perform physical tasks constantly
Occasionally climb ladders and work at heights
Schedules available include day and evening
Qualifications / Experience:

2+ years relevant cleaning experience
Knowledge of hand and common power tools
Knowledge of, and use of disinfectants and cleaning agents
Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
Capable of walking and standing during the entire shift, kneeling, pushing and pulling objects, bending, lifting and moving objects up to 40 lbs., and repetitive arm movement
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be flexible to adjust work schedule on short notice due to inclement weather or emergency situations
Occasionally, will be required to work additional hours after regular shift ends or Saturdays for special facility projects
· Cannot be a Member of the Parish

· Must have a driver’s license

· Have a good work ethic and be punctual.

· Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) Preferred

This is a part time position.

It will require a 15-hour work week.

The yearly salary is $10,000.00
