Good morning!

We are gathering at 10:00 a.m. today for our worship service. This morning's sermon is titled "Don't Call It Optimism: Hope Is A Verb." We'll be in Romans 8, exploring why Christian hope is not a passive sentiment, but an active, wakeful practice in the middle of a groaning world.

Good morning! Today is Senior Honoring Sunday at North Augusta Church, and we are thrilled to celebrate our 2026 graduates - Chloe Ellis, Dane Hodgkins, and Sean Smith, Jr. We hope you'll join us for this one.

We're gathering for worship at 10:00 a.m. This morning's sermon is titled "A Choice, A Charge, and A Blessing." We're spending time in Numbers 6:24-26 - one of the oldest and most beautiful blessings in all of Scripture. The message is for everyone, but we're holding our graduates especially in mind for all of it. We'll also be sharing a photo slideshow as we look back on each of them growing up, and each graduate will have a designated box near the entrance where you can leave a note of encouragement or a gift.

If you can't be with us in person, you can join us via our livestream. Links to the livestream, this morning's sermon notes, and our online giving portal are in the comments below.

One quick reminder: The NAC Teen Bible Study will not meet tonight. We hope to see you soon!

This is just a quick reminder that we will be honoring our graduating high school seniors during our Sunday morning worship gathering tomorrow. Our 2026 graduates are Chloe Ellis, Dane Hodgkins, and Sean Smith, Jr. Each graduate will have a dedicated box where you can leave gifts and/or encouraging notes. Let's honor these graduates and make it clear to them that they have a church family who loves and supports them.

Good morning! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, grandmothers, stepmothers, and mother figures who see this post.

This morning's sermon is titled "Women of Valor: A Mother's Day Sermon About a Misunderstood Text." We're spending time in Proverbs 31 - a passage most of us think we already know. It turns out the original context changes everything. I think you'll find it's a lot more surprising, and a lot more powerful, than you might expect.

We're gathering for worship at 10:00 a.m. If you can't be with us in person, you can join us via our livestream. Links to the livestream, this morning's sermon notes, and our online giving portal are in the comments below.

A couple of quick reminders: The NAC Teen Bible Study will not meet today in honor of Mother's Day. And save the date for next Sunday, May 17 - that's our Senior Honoring Sunday! We'll be celebrating Chloe Ellis, Dane Hodgkins, and Sean Smith. We'd love a big crowd there to cheer them on.

We hope to see you soon!

Good morning! We are gathering at 10:00 a.m. today for our worship service. This morning's sermon is titled "Blessed Are The Losers." We'll be looking at how Jesus opens his most famous sermon by calling the broken, the grieving, the meek, and the persecuted "blessed," and what that declaration says about the Kingdom he's announcing.

If you can't be with us in person, you can join our livestream at the link below. Links to our sermon notes and our online giving portal can also be found in the comment section of this post.

Also, don't forget - today is our first Sunday Fellowship Meal! We'll be eating together following the service. Bring food to share, bring friends, and plan to stick around.

Good morning.

This morning's sermon is titled "The Truth Will Set You Free (But first, it will make you pretty uncomfortable)." We're looking at what Jesus actually means when he tells his followers that the truth sets you free, and why it almost always costs you something before it gets you there.

Join us for worship at 10 a.m. If you can't be with us in person, you can join our community via the livestream link I'm posting with this message. Links to this morning's sermon notes and our secure online giving portal can be found in the comment section of this post.

Here's a video of this past Sunday's Sermon, called "Whose Image? (What Caesar Can't Have).

This sermon works through Matthew 22:15-22, where the Pharisees and Herodians try to trap Jesus with a question about the imperial tax, and Genesis 1:26-27, the foundational claim that every human being is made in the image of God. The question Jesus asks about the coin turns out to be a question about something much larger than taxes.

Scriptures referenced:
Matthew 22:15-22 (NIV)
Genesis 1:26-27 (NIV)
