Cultivating the Fruit of Gentleness Devotional:
Day 2: Guarding Your Garden
Reading: Proverbs 4:20-27; Luke 8:11
Devotional: Your words are seeds, and your life is a garden. Every time you speak, you plant something—apples or weeds, blessing or cursing. The sermon challenges us to examine our gardens: "What's your garden look like? You don't know what in the heck growing." Are you planting "I can't" trees or "I'm blessed" fruit? The Scripture says God's words are life and health to all our flesh—they're medicine for every area of life. Start each morning declaring what you want to grow: "I am healed. I am whole. Nothing broken, nothing missing." Uproot the negative words you've spoken by replacing them with God's truth. Your garden will reflect what you've consistently planted.
Reflection: What "trees" in your garden need to be uprooted today? What will you plant instead?
