We invite you to come to Woodridge Baptist Church tomorrow. Sunday school starts at 9:45am, regular service is at 11:00am. We will not have evening service because of Labor Day on Monday, it gives time to be with family and friends for the holiday. We pray everyone has a great Labor Day and be safe.

"Behind The Scenes"

We want to take a moment to celebrate Martha Thomas, a true pillar of Woodridge Baptist Church. Her unwavering dedication as a servant of God has touched every corner of our community. She has served on just about every committee through the years. From her beautiful contributions on the piano and organ to her profound wisdom shared in the adult Sunday School class, Martha’s impact is immeasurable.

Her heart for the homebound has transformed that ministry into a vibrant network of care, ensuring no one is forgotten. Though she humbly shies away from praise, Martha's tireless efforts, spiritual guidance, and constant outreach are a testament to her faith. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and Godly role model among us. Thank you, Martha, for everything you do.

Who is Janie Chapman? Glad you asked, let's learn about her.

Season of Prayer for State Missions

In 1902, Janie Chapman became the first South Carolina Woman's Missionary Union president, and she served for 22 years. She was said to be disciplined with inner strength and a gentle spirit. She glorified the Lord in her work.

Named after South Carolina WMU's first president, the Janie Chapman Offering for State Missions helps support missions efforts across South Carolina and North America. Each year, we spend one week in September highlighting how the Janie Chapman Offering℠ is used, as well as praying for those serving across our state. The hope of the Gospel is made known because of your faithful generosity and prayers!

Her personal motto was 1 Cor. 15:58, “So then, Christian brothers, because of all this, be strong. Do not allow anyone to change your mind. Always do your work well for the Lord. You know that whatever you do for Him will not be wasted.”

She gave us an example of a woman who lived out this scripture. While she was president WMU celebrated their 25th anniversary and Janie wrote: “We do not want to live too much in the past-just an occasional reminder of the stalwart (courageous, strong) and true souls who dared to blaze new trails.”

Janie often identified the purpose and power of WMU:
“Spiritual power is the greatest power…The object of our work is soul saving at home and abroad.”

We will be collecting Janie Chapman contributions for the month of September. Our goal is $600. Please be in prayer of what God will have you give. Let's have the best year, and best that goal!!! Thank you!
