When we are going through stuff sometimes... things are hard, and we start to question God....God I have lived well for you, I serve you with all my heart. ...why am I going through this?
Sometimes though, He is not trying to hurt you....he is preparing you. As the scripture says he is pruning the branches that are already bearing fruit, so that they can bear more fruit.
Look at plants like basil...if you do not prune it back frequently, it will bloom, and stop growing. It will get scraggly, and thin, no longer producing the nice wide leaves we love to season our food with. Pear trees can get bark bound and stop producing fruit, to release it...you have to take a baseball bat to the trunk and beat it a little (seriously).
Sometimes we too need a little "pruning" and preparation, so that we can go into the next season fruitfully.
