This Sunday, while Jakob is away, we welcome Ariel Koerner, Minister for Young Families, FBC, OKC as she brings the message "Loaves and Fishes" from John 6:1-35.

Ariel was born and raised in Oklahoma City and attended Oklahoma Baptist University where she earned a Bachelor of Art degree in music, voice emphasis. After college she worked in the financial sector where she met her husband, David. In May of 2025 she completed her Master of Arts in Religion from B. H. Carroll Theological Institute.

We sometimes look for God somewhere “up there.” Genesis 2 looks for God in dirt, breath, bodies, work, and relationships. Maybe God is closer than we thought.

Before the Bible tells us about sin, it tells us about blessing. Before anything is broken, God looks upon creation and calls it good—and looks upon humanity and calls us very good. This Sunday, we begin at the beginning with Genesis 1 and ask what might change if we understood our story not as beginning with original sin, but with original blessing.
