From all of us at the Interfaith Alliance of Oklahoma, Happy Pride Month! To all members of the LGBTQ+ community: We see you, we love you, we stand with you, we celebrate you.

Interfaith Alliance celebrates the inherent dignity and worth of all people, including many beloved LGBTQ+ members of our faith communities. We were among the first faith-based organizations to shift the perspective on LGBTQ+ equality from challenge to solution, from a scriptural argument to a religious freedom agreement.

We recognize that individual faith traditions approach LGBTQ+ identities differently. The First Amendment protects these communities from governmental interference in their religious doctrines. But we count on our representatives and judges to ensure that each of us is treated with respect within the public sphere.

Today we recognize The Ascension of Bahá’u’lláh, the founder of the Bahá’í Faith. Bahá’ís commemorate the anniversary of the death of Bahá’u’lláh on this holy day, typically observing the day with devotional readings at 3:00 AM.

Children Pre-K thru 5th grade (ages 4-12) are invited to this camp hosted by St. Stephens UMC June 15-18th from 5:30-8:00 with Thursday night being a community potluck with food, inflatables, etc.

This year our theme is “All We Need is Love” and each night will have a different theme of Generosity, Kindness and Celebration.

We are Interfaith so all faith backgrounds are welcome! So far this year we have Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Muslim, Jewish and Methodist participating. We focus on what brings us together and what we have in common.
