Live the Text – 05.31-06.06

The example of Job’s friends remind us to comfort before we counsel and to be slow to explain suffering that only God fully understands. Above all, we should point those who are suffering to Christ, our living Redeemer, who cares for them and invites them to cast every anxiety on Him.

Today was a special Membership Sunday at Christ Church as we welcomed new covenant members into our church family! We are grateful for the men, women, and children who publicly committed to walk with us in worship, discipleship, and mission.

In today’s message from Job, Pastor Chad taught us that Job’s friends wrongly assumed they knew why he was suffering. The lesson was simple: be careful not to make assumptions about people’s hardships, and trust God even when we don’t have all the answers.

Join us in welcoming our newest covenant members! ❤️🙌

Membership & Name Tag Sunday 🎉

Choosing a church home is an important decision. If Christ is the cornerstone of our church, then membership is the cement that holds us all together. This Sunday, May 31 at 10:00 AM, we are gathering in the Fellowship Hall to officially welcome new covenant members into the church family, and celebrate what God is doing!

Grab a name tag, snag a donut (or two), and come say hello 👋🍩 This Sunday, let’s make our newest covenant members feel deeply loved and right at home at Christ Church!

Live the Text – 05.24-05.30

In Job 2, we see friends who entered into suffering with Job. Sometimes the greatest ministry is simply being present.

May we be people who reflect the compassion and presence of Christ to those walking through difficult seasons.

Today’s message reminded us that ministry to the suffering often starts with presence, not perfect words. Like Job’s friends before they spoke, we are called to sit with people, grieve with them, and point them to Jesus through compassion and faithfulness.

Last night marked a special milestone as Major stepped into his new role as Student Director! For his first teaching, he brought a deeply impactful message from Romans 8 and Galatians 5 on the daily choice to feed the Spirit rather than the flesh.

It was beautiful to watch our students lean so intentionally into worship, engage deeply during group discussions, and pursue the presence of God as a community. We are incredibly proud of Major and so grateful for the heart of our students!

Each week, we’ll be sharing “Live the Text” points from the sermon — practical reminders and applications from the message to carry with us throughout the week.
