Walking with Jesus is beautiful, and sometimes brutal.

John the Baptist understood that life was about Jesus, not himself. He embraced the supremacy of Christ and knew his place in the story: “I am not worthy to untie” His sandal strap. That is still the call for us. All of life is about Jesus. And here’s the hope: Jesus is not finished with you. He is not finished with His work. He is still building His Kingdom in this world.

Walking with Jesus can be hard. Following Him will cost you something. There will be moments when obedience is difficult and faith requires perseverance.

But there is nothing like living your life for Jesus. There are greater things ahead for those who walk with Him. Keep following. Keep trusting. Keep making your life about Jesus.

He’s not finished yet. And it’s worth it. 🙌

Tomorrow is almost here! We’re ready to gather together and worship Jesus! We’re especially excited to meet all the new families and students who have recently moved to Norman. We’re praying that River Church becomes a place where you can know Jesus, find community, and grow in your faith.

Tomorrow we’re celebrating baptisms, passionately worshiping Jesus because He deserves our praise, and continuing our journey through the Gospel of John as we open God’s Word together.

Jesus is the eternal God, the Word through whom God makes Himself known. He is life itself, and where Jesus is present, life is there.

John 1 tells us that Jesus came as the true Light, shining into the darkness. His light is available to everyone. No one has to remain trapped in darkness because Jesus gives us the right to become children of God.

Jesus has the authority to bring us into God’s family. We simply receive Him.

This changes everything: how we see God, how we live, how we raise our kids, how we love our families, and how we walk through the darkness.

Here’s a little glimpse! We’re a church in Norman made up of families, young professionals, college students and people from all kinds of backgrounds. We care deeply about knowing Jesus and building genuine relationships with each other.
