+ The Third Sunday after Pentecost +
14 June 2026. Pastor John Vieths

Today, June 14, is the Third Sunday after Pentecost. On Pentecost day, Jesus sent his Holy Spirit to the disciples to empower them for love and service. In these Sundays after Pentecost, we continue to see how Jesus models love and moves us to love each other.

Though Jesus does not walk among us visibly today, he still leads his people. Through his Ministers of the Gospel he continues to comfort, guide, and direct us.

We pray: Almighty and merciful God, you sent your son, Jesus Christ, to seek, and to save the lost. Graciously open our ears and our hearts to hear his call and to follow him by faith that we may feast with him forever in his kingdom; through your son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

1 Corinthians 4:1-5 (CSB)

1 A person should think of us in this way: as servants of Christ and managers of the mysteries of God. 2 In this regard, it is required that managers be found faithful. 3 It is of little importance to me that I should be judged by you or by any human court.[a] In fact, I don’t even judge myself. 4 For I am not conscious of anything against myself, but I am not justified by this. It is the Lord who judges me. 5 So don’t judge anything prematurely, before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God.

+ The Second Sunday after Pentecost +
7 June 2026. Pastor John Vieths

Today, June 7, is the Second Sunday after Pentecost. On Pentecost day, Jesus sent his Holy Spirit to the disciples to empower them for love and service. In these Sundays after Pentecost, we continue to see how Jesus models love and moves us to love each other. Understanding his love begins with understanding that

God Loves Sinners.

The main point of the Christian faith is not hard to understand. It is not primarily about changing behavior or making the world a better place. It is about Jesus saving sinners.

Amen.

1 Timothy 1:12-17 (CSB)

12 I give thanks to Christ Jesus our Lord who has strengthened me, because he considered me faithful, appointing me to the ministry— 13 even though I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I received mercy because I acted out of ignorance in unbelief, 14 and the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 15 This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them. 16 But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, the worst of them, Christ Jesus might demonstrate his extraordinary patience as an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life. 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only[a] God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
