đź’” Doctors have told his family they may have only days left with their 7-year-old son.

Hudson turns 8 on August 20th.

His family is praying with everything they have that he gets to see that birthday.

Josh reached out to me about Hudson “Huddy” Simmons, a little boy from Glenwood, Arkansas, whose family is asking for an army of prayer as an aggressive brain cancer takes more and more from the child they love.

Hudson is now on hospice.

His family says doctors have told his mom, Bethany, that their time together may be very short.

But they are still praying for a miracle.

Hudson was diagnosed in November 2025 after something suddenly wasn’t right.

He woke up with weakness in his right arm and leg.

His family took him to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, where doctors discovered a tumor in his brain.

A biopsy brought the devastating diagnosis.

DIPG, diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma.

It’s an aggressive brain cancer that develops in an area of the brainstem responsible for some of the body’s most essential functions.

Hudson underwent 30 rounds of radiation.

His family says the original tumor shrank, giving them hope.

He was being considered for a clinical trial in St. Louis.

Then scans revealed two new concerning areas.

His cancer was considered to be progressing, and his family says that meant Hudson could no longer participate in the trial.

They kept searching.

They kept fighting.

Most importantly to them, they kept believing.

But recently, Hudson began changing.

He wasn’t talking as much.

He was sleeping more.

His movement declined.

He could no longer get up and use the bathroom by himself.

His mom took him back to the ER.

Josh says doctors told the family those changes were signs that Hudson’s disease was progressing.

There is no surgery waiting to remove this tumor.

No treatment his family has been told will cure their little boy.

Hudson is now home on hospice, surrounded by the people who love him.

And his mom has largely stepped away from posting updates because she is doing exactly what I think every parent would want to do.

She’s spending her time with her child.

Every minute matters now.

What struck me most when Josh told me about Hudson wasn’t only how desperately sick this little boy is.

It was his faith.

His family says Hudson doesn’t talk about if he gets better.

He talks about when.

At seven years old.

Even now.

That faith is carrying the people around him through something almost impossible to comprehend.

A family member, Jaclyn, recently visited Huddy and admitted there simply aren’t words for what they’re experiencing.

“Seeing someone you love fight so hard is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.”

Hudson’s eighth birthday is just days away.

His family wants him here for it.

They want far more birthdays than that.

And despite what they’ve been told, they haven’t stopped believing that God can still write a different ending.

So today, they aren’t asking us to predict what happens next.

They’re asking us to pray.

Please pray for Huddy.

Pray for healing.

Pray for comfort and strength.

Pray for Bethany, Seth, his siblings and every person who loves this little boy.

And pray that this child who keeps talking about when he gets better gets the miracle his family is begging God for.
