Magnify Church

Magnify Church We are a small church in Norman, OK, and we do things a little differently. We meet at 4:00PM in the afternoon sitting around tables as we worship.

Every part of our gathering is done in community, which draws us together as we draw near to God.

Another one of Magnify Church's core values is to "worship all of God all the time."
This might mean going to church on Sunday or singing a worship song in the car. But it could also mean simply being a good steward of the things and opportunities that God has given you.
It might just look like going about your day like normal, but with gratitude toward our Creator.
Worship can look a lot of different ways for a lot of different people, but it all comes back to the heart posture behind it. We need to be worshipping God constantly— wherever He might take us.

Sunday service will meet at our normal time— just a different location!
The Hoopers have been so generous in hosting us this week.
Thank you to everyone for being flexible with this change in routine. We will be back to normal next Sunday!

As Christians, we are called to be truthful and loving. This means loving people NO MATTER WHAT, while also holding them to the standard we are called to live by.
When truth and love collide, we get the perfect balance between the two.
This is one of our church's core values: Being truly loving AND lovingly truthful.

At Magnify, we deeply value ‘putting compassion in action.’ It means ministering to people by stepping into their real, physical needs. So often, those who are walking through difficult seasons aren’t ready to receive spiritual hope until someone first meets them with practical care. When we put compassion in action, we plant seeds of God’s love—trusting Him to grow them in His perfect timing. In doing so, we share the Good News not only with our words but with our lives, just as 1 John 3:18 calls us to do. This week, let’s look for opportunities to embody Christ’s love in tangible ways and put compassion in action!

When Magnify Church thinks about what it looks like to “live see through to be seen through,” we think about living a life that reflects Christ’s love for us.
This doesn’t mean that we act as though we’re perfect. Really, it means the exact opposite. We need to be upfront about our struggles, because, when we do that, something AMAZING happens. We are able to share testimonies of Jesus’s goodness! We get to share that we aren’t perfect, but Christ still gives us hope— and that hope is for everyone.

Magnify’s church values matter deeply to us. They shape how we see the world and how we approach ministry. One of those values is “building the Kingdom— not the castle.”
Psalm 127:1 reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.”
We believe that anything built in our own strength or for our own benefit won’t last. What truly matters—what is worth giving our lives to—is the work that advances God’s Kingdom and His purposes.
Let’s continue working together to build the Lord’s EVERLASTING Kingdom!

No Church This Sunday!
Magnify will not be gathering this Sunday as Alysa — our pastor’s wife and a deeply loved part of our church family — is recovering from surgery. While we take a pause from our regularly scheduled church service this week, we’d be grateful for your prayers for the Knox family as Alysa continues to heal.

Meet Magnify Church!
We’d love for you to get to know our church family — and who better to start with than the ones who helped bring this community to life? Say hello to Jonathan, Alysa, and Jasper Knox. We’re so grateful for their hearts, their leadership, and the way they pour into our growing church. If you see them around, don’t hesitate to stop and say hi!

This past Monday, we had the privilege of gathering for our fourth Grow Group. It was a wonderful evening of sharing a meal, connecting with one another, and learning together. This week, we explored the spiritual discipline of having—and being—an accountability partner. We’re truly grateful for the chance to grow in community and deepen our faith together. We can't wait for next time!

"I'm not ____ enough."
We all come to the day when we are confronted by the fact that we cant fix or change a situation in life. The brokenness and evil in this world is too much and you don't have the ability to stop it. Hopelessness sets in. This is the reality of exiles. Can God be the solution in these moments?

Peter addresses believers as ‘elect exiles’ (1 Peter 1:1), capturing the paradox of the Christian life: we are God’s beloved people, yet we live in a world marked by hardship. Scripture is full of this pattern — Moses in the wilderness, David in the caves, Jeremiah in Babylon. God’s people have always lived outside the promised land, even while being held firmly in His covenant love.
Like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, we are chosen with a future promise. And as we endure suffering in exile, we are called to live with the character of Christ: humility, love for enemies, and care for the Church and the world. Our suffering is not without purpose. It shapes us into Christlikeness and displays His glory until the day we are finally reunited with Him.
This is the very tension and hope we’ll be exploring together in our new sermon series at Magnify Church. Be sure to join us this Sunday!
