Subject: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity 05/31/26
Dear Epiphany Catholic Church & School,
I hope this finds you still reflecting on the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity and how God's very life is a communion of love.
On Trinity Sunday we walked through the mystery that God is one essence in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and I used familiar images (the sun, water, and Saint Patrick’s shamrock) to show how our analogies can help and yet always fall short. We remembered the work of the early councils and the Nicene-Constantinople Creed that shapes our confession, listened to Moses on Sinai and John 3:16, and saw the consistent revelation of God as merciful, giving, and life-giving. The core teaching is simple and profound: God's being is a constant exchange of giving and receiving, and because we are made in his image our fulfillment comes by participating in that same cycle of love—most clearly signaled in our baptism.
So this week, examine honestly what you’ve been putting in front of the Lord—money, comfort, approval, screens—and bring it to him in prayer or confession. Then do one concrete thing of giving: call or visit someone who is lonely, offer your time to help, or make a needed apology, and receive whatever comes back with a humble heart. If you are able, renew your baptismal promises in prayer this Sunday and let that renewal shape the way you give and receive all week long.
Blessings,
Epiphany Catholic Church & School Team
