In Children’s Church we are continuing to work through our series on the Gospel - laying a solid foundation we can continue to build upon.

Today our lesson was on Romans 3:23 - For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

As an illustration, a line was placed on the floor to represent Gods glory. Then each child took turns trying to throw a heavy medicine ball far enough to reach the line. No matter how hard they tried, the ball always fell short.

The kids quickly realized something important: they weren’t failing because they didn’t care or weren’t trying. The weight of the ball worked against them.

This is how sin works. Sin is not just something we do, it is something that has deeply affected who we are. Trying harder does not remove the weight.

This was such an important lesson because without understanding the weight of sin and what it has done, we cannot truly understand the necessity of Jesus’ sacrifice.

Before we can fully grasp the beauty of the Gospel, we must first understand why we need a Savior in the first place.

Next week, we’ll dive into the hope we have through Jesus and how He did for us what we could never do on our own.

While the ladies had a tea party, our young men rolled up their sleeves and spent the evening learning the valuable skill of changing oil!

They learned about the different parts under the hood, and the process of an oil change start to finish. It was a hands-on evening filled with learning, teamwork, and plenty of curiosity as they discovered more about how a vehicle works.

There were lots of dirty hands, laughter, and proud smiles as the boys gained confidence learning practical life skills that will serve them well for years to come!

Last evening our lovely young ladies gathered for an enchanting evening of tea, etiquette, and grace. Upon arrival, each guest was formally announced and escorted to her seat by none other than Butler Jeeves.

The evening commenced with tea, delicate triangle sandwiches, and the most exquisite conversation as the girls learned the art of proper table etiquette. We practiced how a lady sits gracefully in her dress, how to properly set a table, why elbows do not belong upon it, and the importance of never speaking with a mouthful. Among other things, the girls also learned that a true lady does not interrupt, but politely waits her turn to speak.

Throughout the evening, one of our teachers provided the girls with a bit of “what not to do” entertainment by repeatedly forgetting her manners — much to the delight of the girls, who were quick to gasp and call out, “ELIZABETH!” whenever another etiquette offense occurred. The room was filled with laughter and smiles all evening long.

To conclude the evening, our young ladies practiced walking with dignity and grace as they attempted the timeless challenge of balancing a book upon their heads while walking in heels — a task that brought much laughter and delight!

What a joy it was to spend the evening with such sweet girls, watching them learn that kindness, manners, and grace never go out of style. 🫖💐💕

Over the last 3 weeks Children’s Church Kids have repeatedly heard…

God Made the World.
Man Broke It.
Jesus Fixed It.

They have learned all about how God Made the World. How He is glorious and that His glory shines outward from Him into creation. They learned that humans were created to live turned toward God - reflecting that glory.

This week we will move to the second portion of the story arc. Man Broke It.
If God made the world so good, why does it no longer feel that way?

It’s a powerful lesson they won’t want to miss!! ✨PRE-SERVICE ACTIVITIES✨ begin at 9:40! Service starts at 10! Don’t be late! ♥️🤗

✨In Children’s Church Today✨

We learned that humans were designed to reflect God in the fullness of who we are. To live turned towards Him - reflecting His glory into the world.

As a demonstration a mirror was used to reflect light (God’s glory) from the throne. When the mirror was turned toward the light, it reflected. When turned away, it did not.

Following our lesson we had a special altar time where we asked the Holy Spirt to reveal to us, in a word, one way we can each better reflect God’s character in our own lives. Then we listened.

The kids took the word they received and did a mirror craft! See pictures below!!
