First United Methodist Church Norfolk Founded in 1772, First UMC began as the Cumberland St. Methodist class. Our rich history grounds us as a neighborhood church in the heart of Norfolk.

First United Methodist Church is a welcoming and loving faith filled community. Our church and its families have served the Lord for many years. During those years we have welcomed many people looking to find a church home. We take seriously the study of God's word and the living those teachings out in our everyday ministry.

Hey neighbors, imagine stacks of fluffy pancakes dripping with syrup, sizzling sausages on the side, and the hum of laughter as families from across our community gather ’round the table. This Tuesday, February 17 at 6:00 p.m., swing by First United Methodist Church at 3031 Luxembourg Street for our free Shrove Tuesday Pancake Party—100% family-friendly, no tickets or fuss required, just bring your crew and a hearty appetite.
Stick around for seconds (or thirds) and swap stories in true community spirit.
