“Why are so many people upset about wearing masks to church? Some of them have been wearing a mask to church for years!

05/26/2020

Governor Northam’s office has clarified this afternoon’s directive for public places to include churches:

Yes, people must wear masks at all times when involved in indoor worship services, but not outdoor worship services (social distance still in effect in both places).
The preacher can lower his mask when preaching or speaking, but should set a proper example by wearing his mask when not speaking from the platform.
Worship leaders may lower masks if the masks are disruptive to their breathing while leading worship.
Children 10 and above are expected to wear masks in public places, including church (3 and up is recommended).

There is to be no law enforcement involved in the carrying out of this directive, but Virginia Department of Health will be ‘monitoring’ what is happening.

The saga continues.
