God never intended for His people to walk alone or rely only on their own memory and wisdom.
Jesus was preparing His disciples for the day He would no longer physically be with them. He promised that the Father would send the Holy Spirit—the Advocate—to teach them, guide them, and remind them of everything He had said.
The promise is not merely, “I gave you the truth.” It is, “I will help you remember the truth when you need it most.”
When fear clouds your mind, the Spirit reminds you of peace.
When grief overwhelms you, the Spirit reminds you of hope.
When you are uncertain, the Spirit points you back to the words of Christ.
John 14:26 is a promise of God’s continuing presence—Jesus may ascend to heaven, but His guidance never leaves His people.
