Iditarod and basketball! What could be better! We are set up and ready to go!

Tune in to KICY AM-850 and ICY 100.3 FM for the live finish of Iditarod 54 beginning when our team spots the first musher outside town. We’ll have mobile spotters at places along the route and will follow him in. Looking at where Jessie Holmes, the presumed winner, is now, coverage will start sometime around 8:30 or 9 pm. Tune in to KICY AM-850 at 3:45 and 7:45 pm, or ICY 100.3 FM at 4:45, 6:45, and potentially 8:45 pm for updates on where he is and when live coverage will start.

KICY AM-850 will bring you the live finish of the top 20 teams and the Red Lantern, and as many of the rest of the field as staffing allows. Special thanks to Finish Partner Pike Dog Wellness.

The 3A State Basketball Tournament begins Wednesday. The Nome Nanook boys take on Valdez at 12:30 pm. The game will be broadcast on KICY AM-850, unless it looks like mushers will arrive during the game. If that is the case, the game will be aired in its entirety on ICY 100.3 FM.

It’s March Madness on KICY!!

1A State Basketball is on the air on KICY AM-850!

The way our Bering Strait qualifying teams are seeded has caused an overlap in the games today. As a result, we will be broadcasting the Shishmaref boys and girls games today. The court is next to the court where the Shaktoolik girls and boys are playing at the same time, so we will try to update the scores from those games as best our announcers in Anchorage can. Thanks for your understanding.

The first game start is running a bit late. We’ll bring you the game as soon as it starts.

Wednesday
9:30 am Shishmaref Boys vs Skagway
(Shaktoolik Girls vs Akiak)
11:00 am Shishmaref Girls vs Hoonah
(Shaktoolik Boys vs Chief Ivan Blunka)
