The Kindness Project was recently started as a way of complaining less in a chaotic world and instead focusing on love, generosity and kindness. We are focusing on individuals who may be single parents and commuting to work out of town, individuals who are driving out of town for doctors appointments, local college students who are commuting to classes and any individual who may be struggling . So far we have gifted 37 individuals with gas and/or grocery cards and our list is growing . We have approximately 50 more to consider at this time. If you are interested in purchasing a gas card or make a donation towards one, please contact Gail Cole or JoAnn Jo Ann Bauman or leave a card or donation at Nokomis Christian Missions with Kevin or Joan Vazzi and it will be directed to us. The Lenten season is the perfect time to consider helping someone in need. Please share❤️

Thanks to Sally, Winnie, Nancy and Joan today. We got leftover items re-organized after last November’s Operation Christmas Child. Starting to fill boxes and got 10 done today with about another 10 part way done. Made a list of those things we need to work on some more. We did about 110 last fall so we have a way to go but with God’s help we’ll get there!!!🙏❤️🙏

Just a reminder to members and friends of the United Methodist Church of Nokomis. This year’s Advent Project is Nokomis Food Pantry with the specific items needed listed in the picture below. We would like any donations by December 12th which will then give our Outreach team time to purchase the additional items needed for approximately 70 families. The eggs and bread will be purchased a day or 2 before the distribution along with the Prairie Farms gift certificate. The heavy duty grocery shopping bags are also needed if you would like to donate one or more. We will be packing the bags at the church the night before food distribution on December 22nd. Information was in the church bulletin as well as the December Newsletter. Further questions can be directed to Gail Gail Hakala Cole

Joint worship service for Nokomis and Morrisonville Methodist churches tomorrow August 29th at 10:30am in Nokomis. Potluck to follow the worship service at 11:30am in the Fellowship Hall. Fried chicken , drinks and tableware provided. Bring a dish to share or dessert if you are able.
