St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church

St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church St. Mary's Church, established in 1893, is an Episcopal missionary church located on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe's reservation.

It is one of oldest structures in the Episcopal Diocese of Nevada still standing today. The altar table and the baptismal font are carved from stones from Pyramid Lake. Water from Pyramid Lake is used for baptisms. Native spiritual traditions are recognized by the congregation.

Educational scholarship applications are open now until May 15th from The Episcopal Church for the 2026-27 academic year. All applicants must be Episcopalians. The Church will award 8 scholarships to applicants of Indigenous descent in the amount of $5,000 each.

The Episcopal Church gives thanks that it is able to allocate nearly $10 million each year in grants and scholarships from budgetary lines and from trust funds it manages.

Everyone is invited to participate in the Easter Sunday service, including newcomers. Eggs are needed for the Easter Egg Hunt and side dishes and desserts are needed for the lunch. We always do well with the egg hunt donations, but we were a little short last year for the lunch. Bishop Elizabeth Gardner will be leading the service and performing baptisms. Please reach out in advance for a baptism request form.
