Living in Resurrection Power
“That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and may share His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death.” -Philippians 3:10
When the apostle Paul wrote these words, he wasn’t speaking about simply knowing about Jesus—he longed to experience Him. Specifically, he desired to know “the power of His resurrection.” That same power that rolled away the stone, defeated death, and raised Christ from the grave is not distant or symbolic—it is present and active in the life of every believer today.
Too often, we live as if the resurrection is only something to celebrate once a year. In fact, we live in a culture that has tied it to bunnies and eggs. However, Paul reminds us it is something to live in every day.
When we feel spiritually dry, resurrection power brings us renewal.
When we struggle with sin, resurrection power brings us victory.
When churches feel stagnant, resurrection power brings them new life.
The resurrection means nothing is beyond God’s ability to restore—not our hearts, not our churches, and not our communities.
To know this power, however, requires more than admiration—it requires surrender. Paul connects resurrection power with sharing in Christ’s sufferings. In other words, new life often comes as we die to ourselves and yield fully to Him.
Application:
Where do you need resurrection power today—personally or in your ministry?
Are you trying to produce spiritual results in your own strength?
What would it look like to fully surrender that area to Christ?
Take a moment to honestly and intentionally answer these three questions—and give it to Him.
Prayer:
Lord, help Tri-County not to simply believe in the resurrection—but to live in its power. Bring new life where we are weary, victory where we struggle, and renewal where things feel stagnant. Teach us to surrender daily, that we may truly know You and walk in the power of Your risen life.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
