We had a great time volunteering at our Regional Food bank tonight- thanks to all who came out to help!

A few of our Christian Ed families had a fun time helping out at the Willow Creek Equestrian Stables today. We cleaned out a large flower bed, fed the beautiful horses some carrots, and met a hen. It was a good day❤️🐓🪏🐴

We had a fun filled first communion workshop this week where we learned all about the meaning of this sacrament. It was a lovely afternoon with these two sweet friends 💜✝️⛪️

As we are spending our summer in the Psalms, Pastor Sherri has challenged us to write our own Psalm. I (Pastor Mike) was inspired by this Heron I saw on my morning walk. So here is my "Psalm of The Heron."

The Psalm of The Heron

I am grateful
for the way
You met me today.
When You caught me
by surprise.

Or perhaps
I could have been paying more attention.
I don’t know
if I ever considered you
a Heron.
But now
this is how I like to describe you.

Perched.
Present.

A natural reminder
balance and peace
are possible
in the currents
that keep me running.
And with you
there is an abundance
of light.

I wonder
what has your attention?
Yet in your presence
I trust
Your majestic wisdom
beyond my understanding.

So, I continue
filled with grace and gratitude
for the holiness of seeing you
and in some way
knowing I am seen.

As we celebrate 275 years of faithful ministry of the Niskayuna Reformed Church, we dedicated ourselves to continued service to God and our community as we unveiled our new historical marker today.

Great work History and Archives committee! We also celebrated the occasion with a beautiful cake made by our own Hannah Thomas (I didn't get a picture, so someone else will have to share some), and magnets for all to take home to commemorate the ocassion.

All are welcome to join the synod mediation team for a FREE online training event on healthy communications. We ALL can use practice at speaking more clearly to be heard, and listening for understanding... This workshop will also include reviewing your conflict style profile and reflecting about yourself, your style, and how you can interact with others as anxiety rises in more healthy ways. ...Again, we all need to improve our ability to have conversations in more healthy ways, especially challenging conversations.
