Isaiah 47:10 For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Isaiah 21:13 The burden upon Arabia. Lessons from Isaiah (Isaiah 14:1-23)
1.What is the significance of Babylonian culture? vv1-11
And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top
may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be
scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. (Genesis 11:4)
a.It has contributed to the idolatry of all nations on earth.
And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all
things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou
shalt find them no more at all. (Revelation 18:14)
b.It has contributed to the immorality of all nations on earth.
With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the
inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her
fornication. (Revelation 17:2)
c.It has contributed to the disregard for the value of human life. vv3-6
And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all
that were slain upon the earth. (Revelation 18:24)
d.It has contributed to the rise and fall of the wicked despots of the

And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived

2.What is the source of Babylonian ambition? vv12-17
a.The desire for self-exaltation..position..power has evil motives. vv12-13
b.The desire for worship has ungodly motives. v14
And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory
of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give
it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. (Luke 4:6-7)
c.The desire to be God defines the delusional nature of power brokers..
Satanic desires. vv14-17 The king spake, and said, Is not this great
Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of
my power, and for the honor of my majesty? (Daniel 4:30)
3.What is the security of Babylonian activity? vv18-23
a.Security is found in worldly ambitions…reputations.
b.Securty is found in worldly treasures.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose
his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
