Pastor Takura C. Rukuni, preached his final sermon on December 21, 2024, in his home church away from home. He had a deep desire to see his home church grow and flourish.
During NSS senior pastor’s last visit to him in the hospital, he expressed his joy and gratitude that the church had been restored and now looked renewed. His heart was always with his home church, and he constantly sought ways to encourage his fellow countrymen to support it.

Before his illness worsened, Pastor Rukuni regularly attended NSS and actively supported its programs. His presence and dedication will be greatly missed by the entire NSS family. We extend our heartfelt prayers to his beloved wife, Vimbainashe, and their children — Praise, Paidaishe, Priscillar, and Peculiar. May the God of peace comfort them and fill their hearts with hope and strength during this difficult time.

With deep sorrow, we share the passing of Pastor Takura Carlos Rukuni, who went to rest yesterday after a courageous battle with ALS. He faithfully served as a pastor and a conference president in the Seventh-day Adventist Church (Zimbabwe) and was also pursuing his studies at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI.

He is survived by his loving wife and four daughters (ages 3–18). The family is currently making arrangements to repatriate his remains to Zimbabwe. Please keep them uplifted in your prayers during this difficult time.

The Niles Southside SDA Church is stepping forward in faith to restore God’s house! 🙏 Our building, originally built in the 1950s, is in urgent need of renewal. This renovation will prepare us for Pentecost 2025, a season of revival and outreach.

> Replacing the roof, siding, and windows
> Installing new doors and toilet seats
> Laying fresh carpet
> Landscaping the church grounds

Be Part of Our Church Restoration! 🛠️✨
Niles Southside SDA Church is restoring God’s house! We are looking forward to replacing the roof, sidings, windows, replacing toilet seats, replacing the carpet, doors and landscaping. This project is preparation for Pentecost 2025. You can help! We have man power and we need your help to raise $25 000 for materials. The project is scheduled for Aug. 31 – Sept. 7, 2025, and we need your donation to be in before the project begins.
