Good Saturday Afternoon, Family Church:

Tomorrow, Sunday, September 6th, is going to be a Super Sunday at Family Church. We’re having a very special guest tomorrow, missionaries from a country so anti-Christianity that I can’t list their name or the country on Facebook.

You don’t want to miss hearing about their ministry in this country and their message.

Thank you for all of your prayers for me. Please keep praying for me as I continue to struggle with terrible pain and complications from my recent surgery. I love you all very much.

Proverbs 3:7

“Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.”
‭‭(ESV‬)

In Proverbs 3:7, Solomon begins by saying, “Be not wise in your own eyes;” This is a powerful reminder to stay humble and recognize that we don’t have all the answers. Sometimes we can become so confident in our own plans, experiences, and opinions that we forget to seek God for direction.

The word, “fear” here, doesn’t mean to be afraid of God, rather it means to be in Awe of Him. To Cherish Him. To Place Him First, above everything else, in your life.

And in the last phrase of this verse, Solomon says, “turn away from evil.” Meaning, let your heart and motives be right. Start doing right, thinking right and acting right.

Folks, the only way you can accomplish these things is to give, surrender, your life completely over to Jesus.

‼️ WORD UP Wednesday‼️

Exodus‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬-‭23‬

“Then Moses turned to the Lord and said, “O Lord, why have you done evil to this people? Why did you ever send me? (23)For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has done evil to this people, and you have not delivered your people at all.”” (ESV‬)

Exodus 5:1–23 is the moment Moses obeys God — and everything seems to get worse. Moses and Aaron deliver God’s command to Pharaoh — to let the Israelites go and worship The Lord God — but Pharaoh responds with pride and hostility. He mocks the Lord, rejects His authority, and punishes Israel by increasing their workload. What looked like the beginning of freedom suddenly feels like a setback.

This chapter reminds us that obedience doesn’t always produce immediate relief. Sometimes the first step of following God stirs up resistance before it brings breakthrough.

Israel’s leaders turn on Moses, and Moses turns to God with honest frustration: “Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people?” It’s a raw moment, but a necessary one. God had already said Pharaoh’s heart would resist until His power was fully revealed.

Exodus 5 teaches us that God’s deliverance often begins in the dark — when circumstances tighten, when opposition rises, and when we feel confused. But even in the tension, God is moving. The next chapter, chapter 6, shows that God hasn’t forgotten His covenant, and He hasn’t abandoned His people. He’s preparing a redemption bigger than they imagined.

Keep on! Don’t Give up! God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. And your reward is bigger than you can imagine.

‼️ WORD UP For Tuesday ‼️

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.” — Psalm‬ ‭37‬:‭5‬ ‭(ESV‬)

This verse calls us to place our lives completely into God’s hands and trust Him with what we cannot control. We often carry the weight of trying to make everything happen ourselves, but God invites us to surrender that burden to Him. Trusting God does not mean becoming passive; it means moving forward in faith while knowing that the outcome ultimately belongs to Him.

Is there something in your life that you cannot control? Think about it. What is it? Turn it completely over to Jesus. Completely surrender yourself to The Lord.

‼️ WORD UP ‼️

““Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near;” — Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭6‬ ‭(ESV‬‬)

This verse is an invitation to stop postponing our relationship with God and seek Him wholeheartedly today. There are moments when God feels especially near, and we should respond by turning our hearts toward Him rather than allowing distractions to pull us away. Seeking God is more than simply asking Him for what we need; it is desiring His presence, His wisdom, and His will above everything else.
