Here are the arrangements for Mr. Clayton Collins.

Please pray for his family. Pray that the Lord would be near to them during the difficult time.

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
— 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

Clayton Gordon Collins
Mr. Clayton Gordon Collins, 73, widower of Beverly “Vonnie” Stephens Collins, of The Ketchuptown portion of Nichols, passed away following a brief illness, while at his home, during the morning of Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
Mr. Clayton, a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, was born on September 7th, 1952, in Mullins, South Carolina, a son to the late Laverne and Christine Causey Collins. Clayton spent most of his life as a farmer and mechanic, helping on the family farm, and working on automobiles and various machines that needed a little T.L.C. and a special touch around the farm and the community. That mechanical ingenuity paid off in the long run, because the family says, “Clayton could work on and fix anything.” Mr. Collins served his Country as well, serving in the National Guard. He loved woodworking, creating things with his hands brought him pleasure and joy. Clayton also enjoyed working in his yard, maintaining the grass, trees and shrubs, along with helping out the birds with feeders and houses. Mr. Clayton was a devout Christian man with a strong faith. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He was loved and cherished by all who knew him and will be forever missed.
Mr. Collins is survived by his children: his son, Clayton Stephen Collins of Nichols; his daughter, Whitney Collins Elliott and her husband, Andrew, of Nichols; his grandchildren: Mason Clayton Elliott, Maci Caroline Collins, and Andi Leigh Elliott; his brother, Glenn Collins and his wife, Angie, of Nichols; sister-in-law, Karla E. Collins of Nichols; his mother-in-law, Betty F. Stephens; brother-in-law, Fenton (Frankie) Stephens, and sister-in-law, Lora Anne (Danny) Barnhill, all of Nichols; and his nieces and nephew: Becky Bane, Logan Simmons, and Matt Collins.
Clayton was predeceased by a brother, Milton Collins, two nephews, Paul Collins and Bryan Barnhill, and a niece, Kacie Stephens.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 23, from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Nichols, 535 Nichols Hwy. South, Nichols.
Mr. Clayton’s funeral service will follow in the Sanctuary of Mt. Pisgah at 4:00 P.M., with Pastor Benji Hutson officiating. The family will lay Mr. Clayton to rest following the service, in Stephens Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made in Clayton’s memory to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 535 Nichols Hwy., South, Nichols, SC 29581 or to the Stephens Cemetery Fund, c/o Danny Barnhill, 8141 Lake Swamp Rd., Nichols, SC 29581.
