The Apostle Paul is an amazing picture of God’s grace and His transforming promise and power.
Saul of Tarsus not only hated Christians, but led his men to have believers (men AND women) taken from their homes, imprison them and even murder them. Then, on the road to Damascus it all changed for Paul. He went from viciously murdering those early saints for simply worshipping Jesus to become an undeniable, faithful servant of the Lord Jesus himself.
Pharisee, slanderer, murderer, you name it and Saul was that man. Evil.
Then God stepped in and changed everything. The One True God that saved Paul on the road to Damascus brings the same saving AND transforming power to each of us that simply have faith in the person and finished work of Jesus Christ. Isn’t THAT amazing grace?!?! No one has done SO MANY bad things that they can’t still receive God’s love, forgiveness, transformation and restoration.
If we can’t see ourselves being hopeful and praying for salvation and good of those that have hurt, slandered and/or even persecuted us, the problem lies within us….not them.
Ephesians 2:4-7 ESV - But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
His love ALWAYS trumps our unbelief. Grace.
