🎒📖👕🏅 WHY ALL THE AWANA STUFF?

There are four basic tools we use to help children get the most out of Awana:

📖 Handbook — Learn biblical truth and memorize Scripture.

🎒 Handbook Bag — Keep their handbook, Bible, and supplies together.

👕 Uniform — Build belonging and display awards.

🏅 Awards — Celebrate progress throughout the year.

But remember:

The stuff isn't the goal.

The goal is for children to know God's Word, understand it, and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

The tools simply help us get there.

We're in this together! ❤️

📖 THE AWANA HANDBOOK IS MORE THAN A BOOK!

Your child's handbook is a tool to help them:

• Learn biblical truth
• Memorize Scripture
• Understand God's Word
• Apply it to their lives

And parents, you don't have to be an Awana expert to help! ❤️

Take a few minutes each week to look through your child's current section, practice verses together, and ask questions.

Try this:

“What is this teaching you about God?”

Then listen.

We're in this together!

📖👥🏃 WHAT HAPPENS AT AWANA?

Ever wonder what your child does at Awana each week?

There are three main parts:

📖 LARGE GROUP — Bible teaching, prayer, and learning about God.

👥 SMALL GROUP — Time with their leader to work through Scripture, memorize verses, ask questions, and build relationships.

🏃 GAME TIME — Fun, teamwork, friendship, and a chance for everyone to participate.

Each part has a purpose. We're not just filling two hours—we're creating opportunities for children to learn, connect, and grow.

Try this tonight: Instead of only asking, “Did you have fun?” ask, “What did you learn about God?”

WELCOME TO AWANA!

We're so glad your family is part of Awana at Rocky Bayou Baptist Church!

Awana is about more than a Wednesday night activity. Our goal is to help children learn God's Word, understand it, and apply it to their lives—while building relationships and having plenty of fun along the way!

📖 Bible teaching
🧠 Scripture memory
👥 Small-group relationships
🏃 Game Time
❤️ Growing in faith

And parents, we're in this together!

What happens at Awana matters, but what happens at home matters too. Over the next few weeks, we'll share some simple ways you can help your child get the most out of their Awana experience.

Let's grow together! 💙

Try this tonight: Ask your child, “What are you most excited about at Awana?”

When your child comes to Awana each week, they're part of something much bigger than what happens here at home.

God is using Awana to reach children around the world with the hope of the Gospel. In places you might never expect—including public schools in 16 countries across Africa—children are learning God's Word, growing in their faith, and discovering the love of Jesus.

This short video offers a glimpse of the incredible work God is doing through this ministry across the globe.

We hope it encourages your family to celebrate what God is doing, pray for children and leaders around the world, and remember that every verse learned and every life touched is part of His greater story.

Thank you for partnering with us as we help raise the next generation to know, love, and serve Christ. 🌍💕
