Faith in Action: Remembering September 11 🇺🇸

Faith in Action is a new series highlighting how Holy Name of Jesus parishioners carry Christ into our community through service, compassion, and involvement.

A few HNJ parishioners helped organize the 25th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Niceville High School, while several others showed their support by attending and participating.
Together with our neighbors, they climbed 2,071 steps—the equivalent of 110 floors—in honor of the lives lost, the heroic first responders, and all those forever affected by September 11, 2001.

May we always look for opportunities to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community through remembrance, service, and unity. May we never forget. 🙏🇺🇸

✳️Monthly day of prayer for Mental Health – September 2026

This month the Pope’s prayer intention is for the care of water.

As clean water refreshes and sustains the body, the living waters of the Gospel can refresh our parishes where every shared burden and connection becomes a source of spiritual support, especially for those of us living with mental health challenges.

Many people in our parishes who are facing mental health challenges feel isolated, parched and spiritually dry, drained of hope because of stigma.

To overcome the stigma that separates us we need to take Pope Leo’s words to heart and “bring the hope of the Gospel into the ‘waters’ of the world.”

We pray that our parishes offer welcome and understanding to those among us facing mental health challenges and are thirsting for spiritual healing and dignity.

Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross

The Exaltation of the Cross proclaims that “the event of the Cross and Resurrection abides and draws everything toward life” (CCC 1085).

Today also begins a special countdown for Holy Name of Jesus. One year from today, on Tuesday, September 14, 2027, we will welcome eight relics of Christ’s Passion for one special evening.

Save the date and watch for more details as we prepare for this profound opportunity to reflect upon Christ’s Passion and the immeasurable love He revealed through the Cross.

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You, because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.

The Knights of Columbus Council 7667 is hosting its Charity Scramble – Scholarship Edition on Thursday, October 15 at Rocky Bayou Country Club! Proceeds will benefit the 2027 Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund and other local charities.
