Gimme Some Truth
We like to believe all people are connected, but what happens to that connection when people seem to be irrevocably divided by how we know, well, anything, and what we know, or think we know, to be true? Buffalo Music Hall of Famer Doug Yeomans joins Rev. Frances Manly to explore our world of truth and lies in song, story, and reflection.
We all know the truth. more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis, the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe." —King T'Challa, the Black Panther.

ANNUAL MEETING after church service this Sunday

“That Which Must Be Unspoken”
One in Five Americans deal with this issue every single day. We talk about “talking about it”, but it seems like we almost never do. The worst offenders are those who identify as “Religious”. This issue has been with humanity since the beginning. You probably would be more comfortable talking about almost anything but THIS. WHAT IS IT! Come hear our speaker as he identifies what THIS is and how we must begin to really deal with IT in order to find and create the peace that we have been seeking and not finding. Resistance to dealing with this is futile.

Presenter: Rev. Ron Skowronski
Musician: Patricia Calback
Coffee Hour: Board of Trustees

May 8: “Nerdy Words”
The English language is always evolving, adding new words, shedding old ones, and sometimes the meaning of a word can shift over time. Vocabulary is essential to communicate in the present, and also to connect us with the past and future. In what ways can our spiritual journey be aided or restrained by the breadth and depth of our vocabulary?

Speaker: John Snodgrass

Adult Education Class April 10, 12:30 – 1:30
Shakespeare and the Fairies - an exploration of English Fairylore and how William Shakespeare re-shaped it for Midsummer Night's Dream. This will coincide with the release of Snodgrass' new book, Supernatural Shakespeare: Magic and Ritual in Merry Old England, which will be available for sale ($20). It's recommended that you read Midsummer Night's Dream or watch a film adaptation before this session. But if not it'll be alright.

Sermon April 3: “April Eyes”

In Western New York, April is the turning point for winter, the month where we finally say goodbye to the whites and grays and hello to greens, yellows and blues. In your life, what is it that signals spring and lifts your spirits? How can we use those elements to do a "refresh" on our lives and move in new directions?

ALMS Box
We will celebrate Boxing Day through its origin and more recent adaptations.

Starting this Sunday, Nov. 28, we will have an ALMS BOX in the Narthex. We shall collect Alms each Sunday until Dec. 26th. We will then open the box and count all that has been collected and decide as a group where the money will go. If you wish to write a check it can be written to "UU Church of Niagara" - we will then send a check equaling all the money and checks collected to the selected agency. If you send something via mail please make sure it says "Alms Box" somewhere so it goes to the right place. Come join us on December 26th for fun and to continue our legacy of giving back to the community at Christmas time.
