A high school serving opportunity will take place at Bright Star Community Church's youth center, located in downtown Cincinnati, to help with their annual summer camp for children who live locally. We will assist children during their academic time, plan games for athletic time, share lunch and have all kinds of summer fun together!

For consistency with the campers, we ask that our high school students sign up for at least three of the five days!

We will ride down together in the van each day, leaving Horizon at 9 a.m. and returning at 3 p.m.

E-news: Explore the Life and Message of Zechariah: One-Man Drama on Sunday, July 12th at 7 p.m.

Experience the book of Zechariah in a fresh and engaging way through a one‑man drama presented by Chad Hovind. From the vision of the horsemen among the myrtles to the prophecy of a humble King arriving on a donkey, this narrative brings Zechariah’s message to life with clarity and impact.

Three members from Horizon's Eco Team volunteered this past week helping our friends at Cincinnati Nature Center who partnered with us on Horizon prairie. Over 40 woodland birds were safely captured, banded and had data recorded while 5 groups of Nature campers ages 5-9 learned about the process. Much was learned and we hope some future ecologists were inspired!

Eco Team Update: While cutting honeysuckle a volunteer found an Eastern box turtle and was able to safely show our younger volunteers and then replace it exactly where he found it. What a treat!

If you find a box turtle never relocate it to a "better" area, as they have small territories and will die trying to return. If they are in a road or parking lot it is safe to pick them up to help them them cross in the exact direction they were heading.
