At Christ First Fellowship we believe in the Triune God who is the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ being fully God and fully human lived, died on a cross to do what we couldn't do for ourselves --cleanse us of sin and reconcile us to God, and he was resurrected to new life. (Romans 3:25) It is by God's grace -- his unmerited favor -- that we are rescued from sin
and reconciled to him; it is not by our works. ("If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." Romans 10:9-10, NIV)
We believe that when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within us to empower us to live as followers of Jesus Christ. We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are active in Jesus' followers today even as they were in centuries past. We believe that the Bible -- both old and new testaments -- are inspired by God and "useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). Each person is precious to God as demonstrated by Jesus' teaching about the shepherd leaving the 99 sheep to go and search for the lost 1. Everyone includes those who are hurting, broken, who are "outsiders", and who are marginalized. God doesn't promise that the road will be easy, but he does promise to walk with us. “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11:28-30, The Message)
"In this house church, we love the Lord with all our hearts. We love each other. We dream big and work hard. We keep our promises, but share everything else. We make mistakes. We say 'I'm sorry.' We forgive. We tell the truth even if it costs us something. We give until it hurts. We laugh. We serve together."
