Join us for a contemplative Good Friday service this Friday 3/29 at 12 PM at Elevation Chapel - 150 Lowell Ave., Newtonville, MA.

"You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." ‭(Romans 5:6-8 NIV‬)

During Lent we will be praying for our community and lifting each other up before God in prayer. We invite you to ask God to put the names of three people or families on your heart. Write them on the prayer card and pray for them over the next few months. Pray for those people to know God more, and to be opened to God's hope and power in their lives!

I keep asking God to give you a Spirit of wisdom, that you may know him better, that your heart be opened to the hope he gives us, and that you might know his great power for those who believe. (from ephesians 1:15-19)

Pick up your prayer card on Sunday or download one from our Linktree - https://linktr.ee/newtoncovenantchurch.

This fourth week of advent, we proclaim that through Christ we can have PEACE with God and with one another.

"Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.'" Luke 2

This third week of advent, we proclaim good tidings of great JOY to all the peoples of the earth!

"But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told." Luke 2

This second week of advent, we proclaim that God demonstrated his infinite LOVE toward us by sending his Son to be born as a baby in the City of David, Bethlehem.

“‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’" Matthew 2:6

This first week of advent, we proclaim that the light of God’s goodness, truth, and life
was illuminated in the person of his Son, Jesus. On Sunday, we lit the Prophecy Candle,
affirming that the promises God made would be fulfilled in the person of Jesus, the HOPE of the world.

"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:2,6
