Members with the Decatur Vol Fire Dept are seen here proudly displaying the departments new battery powered rescue tools for extrication and rescue operations. Otherwise known as the “jaws of life” these tools are the most “up to date” tools for extrication and rescues offered to the fire services. Fire chief Raymond Overstreet in a statement said, “we are extremely fortunate to have these new rescue tools to help serve the citizens of Newton County. Our profound thanks to Representative Randy Rushing and state Senator Tyler McCaughn for their tireless efforts in obtaining funding for this much needed equipment!”
