The Fall Rummage Sale is approaching, Friday October 2 and Saturday October 3rd. Donations can be brought to church starting Monday, 928 thru Thursday, October 1st 9am to Noon. No sooner please, as we do not have storage room. Please don’t bring Furniture, TVs, VHS players and tapes, computers and their components, electronics, Nat’l Geographic magazines, encyclopedias, baby cribs, car seats, large Fisher Price outdoor toys, bed pans, commodes, hard sided suitcases, household cleaners or chemicals, garden sprays, insecticides or herbicides, sharp objects (ie: kitchen knives) Shop for clothes, decor, jewelry, kitchenware, and more.

I always prefer the outdoors to the indoors, especially this morning's dawn. I even prefer being out in the rain (for a bit), like tonight; but some indoor things have quite a story. Why was this stained glass installed 40 years after the cuurent church sanctuary was built? Who paid for it? With what money? And why? "The Laughing Jesus" was originally drawn by Canadian Willis Wheatley, a member and employee of the United Church of Canada. The image celebrated its 50th birthday in 2023. Proverbs 17 says, "A cheerful heart is good medicine." This Sunday, August 16th, is our annual joke-telling and hymn-sing service. It is worship of the Jesus who laughs as well as weeps, who smiles as well as sermonizes. Come prepared to tell your favorite joke and/or suggest your favorite hymn.

During Michael's vacation August 2nd and 9th, worship will be led by the Hontz Family. Mark and Nathaniel are estate planning and elder law attorneys in Newton. Stephanie teaches math at Kittatinny Regional High School. McGinnis is an Engineer with Raytheon Technologies. Please join us for live concerts of the full Hontz Family Band at the State Fair on Saturday, August 8 at 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm in the BBQ Pavilion. Videos of the Hontz Family Band concert at Yellow Frame on July18 will be posted on the “Hontz Family Band” youtube channel. Thanks for your support of our efforts to spread goodwill.
