Fly on over to Yellow Frame Church on June 21st. The theme is "Twisted," where we will, among other things, talk about why shopping from local Yellow Framer, Julia Rutherford, (www.juliarobinrutherford.com)
makes more sense than buying from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's Manhattan-based fashion empire, and why not all poor people deserve help and not all rich people deserve admiration. The Yellow Frame choir anthem will be John Leavitt's composition of, "This Is My Father's World."

Who doesn't love a free, fun, informal, live auction? The 2026 Harvest Home live auction begins after the dinner (5-7 pm) on July 25th at 7:15 p.m. Each year the auction consists of donated items, so the items vary year to year (photos are from 2023). Want to donate an item? Email the church office for a donation form, [email protected]. The auction is free to attend. After the delicious country buffet dinner in the air conditioned dining room, come upstairs into the air conditioned church sanctuary, stop at the table up front and get your bidding number, then find a seat and wait for the fun to begin! Mark your calendars now, Saturday, July 25th, 7:15 p.m.

After the storm last night...

White Lake and Summer are calling, as is Swartswood Lake, Culver Lake, Hunt's Lake, Crater Lake and so many more; but, before scattering for summer, join us on June 7th for the last day of Sunday School followed by an Ice Cream truck. The worship service will feature the Yellow Frame Choir anthem, "May the Words of My Mouth." For this third Sunday after Pentecost, the focus will be on the life of the Church, the body of Christ. May 24th is Pentecost Sunday. "Pentecost" is from the Greek word for "Fifty." Pentecost Sunday is 50 days after the first Sunday of the Easter Season (Easter is a "season" with 7 Easter Sundays) and it is the "birthday" of the Church when the gift of the Spirit that makes the new community called the Church possible. In the Hebrew Scriptures, Pentecost was 50 days after Passover, and it was the festival of "first fruits," the beginning of the harvest. The gift of the Spirit and the Church are the "first fruits" of the larger "harvest" to come, the new heaven and new earth. What we experience now is "just enough" to give us hope for the full harvest that is coming. In the Gospel reading from John 7, Jesus speaks of the Spirit as the "living water" that quenches thirst.
