NEW SERMON SERIES STARTS THIS SUNDAY!
Sometimes life can feel heavy, exhausting, and rushed. We spend so much time working, worrying, and just trying to keep up that we forget something important:
God created us for joy too.
Over the next four weeks at Newport United Methodist Church, we’ll begin a new series called “Season of Play” — a series about delight, wonder, laughter, healing, and rediscovering joy together.
Week 1 (THIS SUNDAY):
“Play & The Gift of God’s Delight”
Psalm 126:1-3 & Zephaniah 3:17
Next Sunday will be FAMILY WORSHIP as we continue the series with:
“Masterclass for a Stuck Church”
A fun, interactive worship experience for all ages!
Upcoming weeks will also explore:
✨ Moving out of survival mode
✨ Relearning curiosity and wonder
✨ How joy itself can become good news to the world

Family Worship This Sunday!

This Sunday is something a little different—and a whole lot of fun!

We’re having Family Worship, where kids, adults, and everyone in between will experience worship together with:
🎭 A short skit
🎲 Interactive games
💛 A message for all ages
🙌 And plenty of moments to laugh, learn, and connect

Our theme is:
✨ “Because He Lives… Love Wins Anyway”
📖 Romans 8:31–39

We’ll be exploring the powerful truth that nothing can separate us from God’s love—no matter what.

Whether you have kids, grandkids, or just enjoy a more interactive, joyful service—this Sunday is for you!

I met up with some amazing women from the Methodist Women of Faith in Pitman last night.
We put together 250 hygiene kits for UMCOR- the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
These will go to (Egg Harbor?) and then to Tennessee
They will be given to victims of disasters.

Thanks to Newport UMC’ Women’s group, we collected towels to donate !

On Thursday, April 23rd at 7:00 pm, the Delaware Bay United Methodist Women of Faith will be preparing hygiene kits for UMCOR. We have pledged to donate 25 hand towels, measuring either 15 x 25 or 17 x 27 inches, intended for bathing, with a specific exclusion for kitchen, cleaning, or microfiber towels.

Tomorrow morning is our soup, baked goods and rummage sale. We want to empty downstairs!

Newport United Methodist Church, 134 Methodist Road, Newport, will host their annual soup, baked goods and rummage sale on Saturday April 11 from 9 am to 1pm.
Come shop for gently used items. Homemade
soups and baked goods will also be available for purchase.
Your donations help us give back to our community.
