Our church voted to close today, ending a 210-year run, which is no small accomplishment for any church these days. Right as the business meeting was starting, we had an unexpected visitor - a church mouse! After a few screams, squeals, and laughs, the mouse was retrieved and put outside (people were making these noises not the mouse). 🐁

Not an easy decision to make, but we know that God will bring good out of this. Romans 8:28 says “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.“

Next Sunday, May 29th, will be our last service. All are welcome!

On Sunday, May 22nd our church will have a business meeting to consider ceasing operations. Church leadership realizes that the pandemic has created backwards movement instead of the forward momentum we had two years ago. This is not an easy decision but we believe that the Kingdom will benefit more by the resources we have going to ministries who have a broader reach than we do. Please pray for our church during this time. Also there are many other churches who have already closed or who are close. They need prayers too. Thanks.

We are cancelling on-site and Facebook live services tomorrow. The conditions around the church are still bad from the storm and parking is pretty much non-existent. Stay in and stay safe and we will see you next week.

Richard Hurd, a very wonderful Christian man, passed away last week and is now praising Jesus in Heaven even more than he praised Him on this earth. Please read his obituary for service times and for the wonderful things about him and his family.

Richard Roswell Hurd, age 96, of Newport, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Christ Hospital, surrounded by his children. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years
