Our Cemetery Manager, Kharizma and her husband, went on vacation and visited some historic cemeteries in Pennsylvania. This cemetery in Lexington, PA still has a very active church! The cemetery was established around the same time as Eureka Cemetery & Mausoleum in the last 1800's.
When we drove by it was covered in mist and time melted away and I could not resist taking a few pictures to capture it.

“Wild Geese”
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting —
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

A new and innovative way to celebrate loved ones is being used by many families as we learn how to say good-bye without in-person funerals.

There are many ways to remember our lost loved ones. Sometimes their stories remain untold and sometimes they are memorialized into the very landscape of our lives.

The wreckage of a fishing boat can be seen during a minus tide about 200 yards south of the south jetty of Newport’s Yaquina Bay. The remains are believed to be that of the Amber Dawn II, a 43-foot crabbing vessel that capsized in heavy seas on the night of Dec. 6, 1994 near the tip of the south j...
