Congratulations! You made it to the end of midterms! We hope everything went well for you and you can take the opportunity this weekend to relax and recover from the stressful time. We hope this last piece of scripture serves as a reminder of the good things that can come from struggles. Even though we might not like being challenged and tested in life, those moments can serve as a great way of building character. They also help strengthen our trust in the God who got us through those seasons, and will continue to do so for all the challenges ahead. Think of all the ways you grew over these last few weeks, or can use things you learned to help you in the future. Reflect on how your faith and trust in God impacted your ability to face the trials you had, and contemplate how you want to continue growing that faith in Him.

It’s hard not to give a shout of praise to the Lord on a gorgeous day like today. Even though we’re finishing up a week of craziness and stress, we can take time to stop and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation around us. Go outside, feel the sun on your skin, breathe in the fresh air, and lift up a praise to the God who made you and all of creation; the God who is with you, fighting for you, strengthening you, and loves you beyond measure.

Sometimes it’s easy to get super stressed and overwhelmed about all of the things we have to get done when we try to think about everything at once. However, today’s scripture is a great piece of wisdom that reminds us to stop and simply focus on the things before us today. Don’t worry about the test tomorrow, focus on the assignment today. Handle each task as it comes, and don’t get caught in the trap of worry, trying to figure out how you’re going to tackle everything at once. Remember, God has your future in His hands and he will get you through the days to come, just as He is getting you through the days now and how He got you through the days before. Stop. Breathe. Pray. Focus. Trust in Him. Do amazing things.

Oh good, gracious Father, be with us today as we continue living out our lives in the places you have called us to be. Please give us strength to face the challenges of the day, focus to devote our energies to the works you’ve given us, and peace to sustain us through the struggles of this world. Keep our hearts fixed on you, and protect us from the things of this world that try to distract us from walking rightly before you. Give us mercy and love to shower on others in the same way you shower them on us. Finally, encourage us to take time to praise you and abide in the wonder of your presence. Open our eyes to the ways you are moving in our lives, and teach us how to chase after you with our whole selves.

Welcome back! We hope you were able to get some much needed rest over the weekend. We’re sure everyone is moving back into the stress of studying and test taking as we begin this next week of midterms. We hope today’s scripture is an encouragement to you, reminding us of the Spirit within us that gives us the ability to tackle the challenges ahead. Turn to God during this time, He WILL give you the strength and focus you need to make it through this week and the semester.

Congrats Everyone! You’ve made it to the end of the week! We as a BCM are so proud and impressed by the hard work you’ve been putting in this last week. Hopefully you’ve gotten some of your tests/assignments out of the way and can take some time to rest over the weekend. We encourage you to spend some time resting in God’s peace these next few days. Peace He gives about trusting He’ll get you through this, peace about how well you’re doing, peace about the love and care He gives to you. Spend a few moments reflecting on times you’ve felt His peace before, and how wonderful it is to let go of your worries and simply rest in the peace He gives. Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Happy Thursday everyone! Guess what?! You’re almost through the first week of midterms! Keep working hard, you’re doing great! We know this is a stressful time, and sometimes you start to wonder how well you’re doing on all your tests and assignments. Well, today’s scripture is a reminder that God is working in your life, for your good. No matter how you do on a test, it doesn’t change your worth in His sight or the fact that He will still bring about His good plan for your life. We encourage you to check out the rest of Romans 8, it’s got some great reminders of how God is there for you and working in your life!

Had lots of fun this evening packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child! Handwritten notes were included in each box, and we hope you will join us in praying for these boxes as they go out to touch the lives of children around the world! (Also shoutout to Lydia Shearin for her awesome Christmas attire!)
