Grateful! Last night, because of the generous donations received, our church CCNN, will be able to deliver 148 bags filled with school supplies to the children at our local boys and girls club this afternoon!

As of this morning our annual winter-commitment to PORT came to a wonderful and blessed conclusion. Every winter the faithful servants of our BUNDLES Ministry pour out their hearts of service in support of our community’s homeless and displaced persons.

It takes many hands over a few-day-period to execute what surmounts to a 12-hour service commitment. We have folks folks serving a dinner shift, a breakfast, both shifts, or even the hefty 14-hour overwatch shift!

We are truly humbled by the hard work and dedication of every single one of our volunteers. We are also honored to have partnered with Orcutt Baptist Church for the last several years being a gracious host church facility for the community. They will be sorely missed in the years to come as they will no longer be able to continue in support of PORT....we lift them up in prayer!

We had a wonderful time today! We enjoyed yet another opportunity to partner with the Buckroe Boys and Girls Club‪ in Hampton‬, Va. We hosted a Back to School fellowship playing games, having a dance off, eating food, and distributing backpacks filled with school supplies. Our faithful team of volunteers showed up in full force. In the words of Ms. Lia Martin, “We’re grateful to come out and be a blessing to these kids and be able to step-in financially for some of the parents.” All glory and honor to our Lord for His abundant blessings!

This afternoon, our ministry team ventured out to the Boys and Girls Club at Thorncliff. One of our faithful volunteers, Ms. Tracy Staten, shared of her experience,

“KIDS bring so much happiness to one’s world! Seeing the smiles on their faces is what matters the most! Observing them eating amongst one another, the conversations they were having and the interaction with each other playing, not having a care in the world, makes you want to be a kid all over again. It was such a joy spending time with the beautiful children of the Boys and Girls Club Thorncliff location in Newport News.” As she shared, she remembered back to and reflected upon Matthew‬ ‭18:2-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

Wonderful praises to our Lord! Even when our messaging has a hiccup or two, His faithful servants show up and show out, as always. Once again, the BUNDLES ministry is in execution-mode of our annual backpack and school supply donations. This year, we are able to support TWO Boys and Girls clubs ...one in Newport News and one in Hampton. A tremendous thank you to all who have donated in a tremendous way. What an awesome God we serve!

BUNDLES, Love Out Loud and Military outreach, sub-ministries of CCNN’s overall Reaching Out ministries, combined efforts to serve our Veterans at Hampton’s Veterans Administration Medical Center, on this day, May 18th, U.S. Armed Forces Day. We did what we do best: we serve and we fellowship; but, ultimately, we love and we share Jesus Christ!

It’s Teacher Appreciation week and we are proud of all our community’s teachers! Yesterday afternoon, in recognition of their unrelenting dedication to our children and in their honor, our faithful servant-team of BUNDLES volunteers, served lunch to the teaching staff at Dozier Middle School.

Today, BUNDLES and Love Out Loud ministry teams joined efforts for a one day Mission trip out at the Menchville House. Yard work, lunch, fellowship, prayer and games with the kids - a big “Thank you!” to all of our volunteers. Pray that hearts are changed and the Lord’s Spirit moves among the families we served today!

“Matthew 9:36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” ...and He still does so, even to this day!

Preparations are well underway for tonight, our last night in support of PORT. Food for tonight’s dinner and tomorrow morning’s breakfast have been procured; treats are in route; and, all the donated clothing contributions will soon be loaded up for transportation. As always, we are honored by the faithful volunteers who selflessly dedicate their weekends and long hours in support of our ministry and the Newport News community at large.

Just to illustrate the larger community picture on how God is using CCNN: We partner with People Offering Resources Together (PORT). PORT is a collective of participation of 113 churches, the sheriff’s department, medical personnel, food bank, health and humane services, etc., that energizes in partnership each winter to collectively shelter and feed our community’s homeless members.

Again, we are honored by all those who have contributed… even more so, we are humbled at what God has enabled!

FAITHFUL! That is exactly how we feel about our BUNDLES volunteer team from CCNN. Over 50 volunteers - men and women of all ages (7 y.o. on up) - enthusiastically and faithfully SHOWED UP and SHOWED OUT in support of PORT tonight! The dinner crew has departed, a small team of us remains over night, and it won’t be long before the breakfast crew arrives. No doubt in our minds that each of you possesses a true servant’s heart and we are grateful! Good night and God’s blessing be upon you all.

Back in December 14, 2018, through our church’s gracious members, we collected gifts and gifts cards & for the Boys & Girls Club. Thank you for allowing us to show Christ's love to 150 children this Christmas!

BUNDLES ministry in motion! Last night kicked-off our first night this season in support of PORT. We are truly humbled and blessed for numerous members of CCNN who graciously and selflessly offered a “servant’s heart” throughout the night and early this morning. Together, we partnered with Resurrection Lutheran Church, prepped and served dinner, issued bedding and linens, prepped and served breakfast...alas, our 12-hour shift came and went... time to finally catch a few Zzzz’s!
