Job Opportunity: Pastor
HARTWOOD CHURCH
Are you a SHEPHERD with a heart for the countryside? Hartwood Church, a warm Bible-based, non-denominational church in rural Tuscarawas County, is seeking a bi-vocational pastor to lead our congregation. We are a multi-generational, close-knit church community rooted in traditional values, looking for a passionate, visionary, faithful leader who has a heart for our next generation and the ability to bring fresh perspective to guide us in our spiritual growth and community outreach.
About Us
*Location: Newcomerstown, Ohio
*Established in 1830
Key Responsibilities:
*Preaching & Teaching: Prepare and deliver biblically sound, Christ-centered, and practical sermons that apply to daily life.
*Shepherding: Provide pastoral care, counseling, and visitation to congregation members-including homebound, sick, and funeral officiation.
*Community Outreach: Be a visible presence in the community, building relationships outside the church walls.
*Leadership: Work collaboratively with our church leadership to cast a vision for the church, manage daily operations, and encourage discipleship.
*Equipping: Train and empower the congregation to do the work of the Lord.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Character: A firm commitment to biblical requirements for leadership as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
Experience: Previous pastoral or lay speaker experience preferred, but not necessary.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Biblical Studies, or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
Call to Rural Ministry: A genuine love for small-town life and a desire to minister to farmers, families, young adults, and seniors in our area.
Agreement: Must support and uphold our non-denominational, evangelical doctrinal statement of faith.
