Do you ever wonder why we are called "The Home Plate Project"?

In July of 2020, Newcomerstown tragically lost two teenagers.

A leader named Wendy Miller in HPP felt the Spirit of God prompt her to have a prayer service. Our town was desperate for some type of hope. So, in less than 24 hours we had hundreds of people meet at Home Plate in our local ball field (Cy Young Park).

As the service was ending, our founder Daniel Bias truly felt the Spirit of God say to me, if I don’t say what God placed in me then it was “on me”. He allowed God to just work in Him at that moment. He prayed, and we he opened my eyes and saw the unexplainable comfort and love of God sweep across everyone there.

In the midst of death and tragedy, where there was no comfort or peace to have, God gave us everything the Bible says we can have. It was truly an encounter like we have never felt.

We knew that this couldn’t be a one-time thing. A week or so later, while driving back from Cleveland after that service he looked over at my wife and exclaimed “Home Plate Project”! She bawled, as did he, and I knew that was the call from Christ we had been praying for.

Our primary goal is to better NCT however we can. Sometimes it's as simple as a small get-together, and other times we work with other churches and organizations to bring events like the Easter Experience.

What a day. A day that was in question because of pouring rain with lighting. It almost didn't happen. Then God came in 🙌🏼 No rain OR lightning!!

We hugged necks, gave fist bumps, and even had some teary eyes. Thank you to everyone who came, volunteered, prayed, and simply were a part of a special community project.

20,000 eggs stood no chance!

The Easter Experience bible scenes were AMAZING. We at HPP were truly blessed to get to see it.

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to stuff 10,000 eggs? Well, i can tell you thanks to our family we do. Between the cramps in our fingers, and the sugar high from the missing candy, it's something we look forward to every year!

I DARE YOU!

This a small but effective way to help be better.

Tomorrow, I DARE YOU to do something above the normal.

- Pray before you leave the house
- Tell your family you love them, and give them a hug
- At work, do something to help a coworker
- At work, DON'T COMPLAIN about something that you can't change
- At school, help someone that needs it
- At school, Stand up for someone that needs help
- EVERYONE, try to be encouraging rather than dismissing

Every leader should create people who want to help, rather than want to quit.

Today we received 10 boxes. Each box contains 1000 plastic eggs. In about 10 days we will get together and stuff each egg with sugar 😅... We might take a piece or two for ourselves 🤷‍♂️

Then we will wait about 2 weeks and spread them all over Lee Stadium.

Meanwhile, we will be anxious, but we also will pray over them.

An egg is insignificant. Getting the chance to put a smile on a kid's face, while getting a quick chance to teach them that Easter isn't about eggs, is simply priceless.

We pray that on 3/25 people come, have a great time, and maybe just maybe, see Christ in a new way. Not just through the scenes, but in the people. My prayer is that our light will shine so bright that people will see Christ in us.

This year, we have decided we are going to focus a lot on building on our relationships with those around us and growing closer to Jesus.

With that being said, we want to invite you to our first Bible study with HPP! 📖

Why do we believe what we believe?
How can we be better Christians, friends, people? Easy topics and deeper topics.
Have questions? Ask us.
Casual setting.
We will discuss many different topics throughout our time together.
We may not have the answers to everything but we can find them together.

Just a group of people who want to get together, grow closer as a community, and closer to the Lord.
