Chalice Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Conejo Valley

Chalice Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Conejo Valley Many beliefs. One faith. Imagine a religion that embraces many different beliefs, including yours.

The Purpose of our Fellowship is to foster a liberal religious community, dedicated to the continuing search for truth, bound by no dogma,
restricted by no creed, and using the democratic process. Affirming the essential dignity and worth of every human being, we join in fellowship in a quest of religious and ethical values, to enrich our personal lives, to
grow in understanding of ourselves and of our world, and to serve others.

Recent events have reminded us how important Unitarian Universalism’s voice is in our world and raised a deeper question: Why do we gather? This Sunday, as we celebrate our newest members, we’ll explore how spiritual community offers belonging, wisdom, hope, and joy, while helping us become a force for love and light in challenging times.

The phrase "Be Gay, Do Crime" has been around for some time, coined as an anti-authoritarian slogan promoting q***r liberation and protest. Since the phrase first appeared as graffiti in Marseilles, France in 2016, it and its accompanying memes have been embraced by members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies. What does this phrase mean in today's world, when more people are coming out as being trans or q***r, yet some parts of society are (still) endeavoring to make being LGBTQ+ illegal (again)? And how can LGBTQ+ folks still find joy in being their authentic selves in such an environment?

Nica explores what it means to live life as a pilgrimage, and how we might be transformed when we learn to walk through life with openness, intention, and awe.

The Climate Justice Revival last weekend at Chalice was a great inspiration to all ages in attendance. We identified visions for a healthy world, illuminated areas of concern and roadblocks to achieving our visions, then brainstormed solutions. All this community and thought will help us to focus in on opportunities to collaborate with others as we help create solutions.

Bagel Buddies are coming to Chalice Sunday, Feb. 2. Kids, let's package up the bagels and schmears during RE then sell them during coffee hour. Grown ups, come buy your bagel from your favorite little buddies on the patio after service. Donations will go to RE scholarship fund and Many Mansions. This is love in action.
