Newbury Park First Christian Church

Newbury Park First Christian Church Newbury Park First Christian Church (NPFCC) is an independent, non-denominational church. Whether you are a skeptic, seeker or believer, you are welcome here.

This congregation is a group of people who believe that Jesus Christ is God’s son, and who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior. We are forgiven sinners and willing servants seeking to grow in grace toward spiritual maturity. We have no creed but Jesus Christ, and the Bible is our guide. We strive to be Christians only, but recognize that we are not the only Christians. Our local fellowship is led

by men and women of faith under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In matters of faith, we desire unity, in matters of opinion, we allow liberty, but in all things we seek to exhibit Christ-like love, for this is His church. We are a Restoration church, and strive to be like the church that existed during the first century – a time before denominations, hierarchies or creeds. The Restoration Movement began in the United States in the early 1800s. The leaders of this movement wanted to move beyond the differences that separate churches into denominations. They wanted to restore the church to a single body, and pattern it after the original church described in the New Testament. Membership in this congregation is by faith and commitment to Jesus Christ as God's Son and the Lord and Savior of one's life. This is expressed by repentance, confession, baptism.

If someone held out $20 to you, how fast would you run to take it?
Do you respond the same way to Jesus holding out grace and salvation? It’s there for everyone, but we each have to step forward and take it.

If you’re ready to step forward, we’re here to walk with you!

What if following Jesus was never about sitting still? He’s calling all of us to fish — to go, to tell, to show people what He’s done in our lives.

Revelation depicts God surrounded by close community worship. And that is why our Encounter Nite tomorrow is going to be spent outside, in community, in the round.

We were created for community with God and one another and we were created to worship. Tomorrow, we intentionally fulfill both of these purposes.

Hosted in our amphitheater, come to worship, encounter God and experience community.

Every day, with every choice, you’re constructing your life — and at some point, the storms come. Financial storms. Relational storms. Health storms. Storms none of us saw coming.

So here’s the real question: what are you standing on?

Jesus never promised a storm-free life. He promised something better — a foundation that holds when the storm hits.

“Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock... and it did not fall.” — Matthew 7:24-25

Same storm. Different foundation. Different outcome.

What’s yours built on?

Jesus calls us known not based on our outward accolades, but on our inward heart turned towards Him. We call this abiding. To abide with Jesus is to make home in Him, and from abiding we see real fruit form in our lives. This is the only race toward accomplishment that is worth pursuing.

Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened. 🙏

In Matthew 7:7, Jesus doesn’t say “wonder” or “wish” — He says ask, seek, knock. So many of us stay quiet with God, assuming He already knows what we need. But Scripture tells us plainly: “You do not have because you do not ask” (James 4:2).

Prayer isn’t bothering God. It’s the invitation He gave us.

What’s one thing you’ve been afraid to bring to God in prayer? Bring it today. He’s listening. 💛

Two more days of ! This week we’ve been learning all about how God is our creator, our safe space, He is love and He is forever.

250 kids have taken over our rainforest campus. Moving from station to station learning about God. Stations include games, worship, Bible and science. These kids have been praising their hearts out and loving our VBS theme song by “Let You Reign.”

Can’t wait to see what God is going to do these last two days.

Jesus tells us to store up our treasures in Heaven. What does that mean? It means changing our sense of worth from how much stuff we have to who God calls us - His children. And using the blessings God has given us here on earth to invest in eternity. How we serve, how we give, how we live. Always with a Kingdom mindset.
