The Meadow Hill church is part of The Reformed Church in America, which has its origins in the 16th century protestant reformation in Europe. It began in North America shortly after 1609 when Dutch and french colonists arrived and established permanent settlements: Fort Orange just below Albany and New Amsterdam on Manhatten Island.
