FORMAL STATEMENT FROM WARRICK COUNTY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY ADMINISTRATION
It is with a heavy heart that the administration of Warrick County Christian Academy announces the closing of our school following the tremendous strain placed upon our ministry by recent public allegations, community attacks, and reporting that we believe failed to adequately distinguish between allegations and established facts.
This decision was not made lightly. Our greatest grief is for the children and families who have entrusted their children to WCCA and who now find themselves displaced from a school community they loved.
*WCCA categorically denies the inflammatory and inaccurate statements that have been publicly attributed to the school and its operations. We are particularly concerned that allegations made by a former employee were reported without sufficient distinction between those allegations and independently established findings from official documentation.
*The school was not given a meaningful opportunity to provide the documentation and factual information available to us before these allegations were presented publicly. Had we been asked, we could have provided documentation concerning our educational program, curriculum, staff qualifications, accreditation and compliance efforts, and the circumstances surrounding the allegations.
We are also deeply disappointed that the voices of the many current parents whose children attended and loved WCCA were not meaningfully represented in the reporting. These families have firsthand experience with our teachers, classrooms, programs, and school community. Many continue to reach out to us, expressing their desire for WCCA to reopen and their heartbreak over the loss of this educational opportunity.
That perspective matters.
The impact of this situation extends far beyond an organization. Children are now displaced. Families are hurting. Teachers and staff members who poured themselves into these students are grieving. And a ministry that was created to serve children and families in our community has been forced to close its doors.
Among the students affected are children who benefited from the individualized support, structure, and educational environment WCCA worked to provide. Their families are now faced with finding another educational setting that can meet their children's needs.
We believe every child deserves to be treated with dignity, every family deserves access to accurate information, and every organization facing serious allegations deserves an opportunity to respond with documentation and facts.
**We do not ask our families or supporters to engage in arguments, retaliation, or hostility. We ask them to remain gracious, protect their children, and allow the truth to speak for itself.**
To our current families, staff, volunteers, church family, and community supporters: thank you. Your messages, prayers, encouragement, and continued love have meant more than we can adequately express.
We will continue to support our families and staff as we navigate this transition and will do everything we can to help those affected move forward.
WCCA was built because we believed children deserved an opportunity to learn, grow, develop character, and be known and valued.
We remain proud of the educators who served these students, grateful for the families who trusted us, and heartbroken that this chapter has ended under these circumstances.
We will not respond to every accusation with another accusation.
**We know what we know. God saw what happened. And we trust Him with the truth.**
