“Have You Received God’s Amazing Promises?”

2 Peter reminds us that God is freely gifting us tremendous promises of abundant life, forgiveness, love, the presence of the Holy Spirit, and above all the promise of eternal life with Jesus in heaven to all believers. We also receive ways to avoid the corruption and evil of this world. Let us take full advantage of those.

“Do We Recognize That Everything We Have Is Through God’s Power?”

Description: 2 Peter reminds us that God’s magnificent power is what provides all we have and all we need. We have enough for us and to share when we live according to God’s commandments and the example Jesus gave us. The Holy Spirit called us to live into God’s glory. Let us do that every day!

“Have You Received God’s Grace and Peace As You Grow in Knowledge of Jesus?”

Peter’s second letter to the early church seeks to overcome controversies that had developed over interpretation of God’s work through Jesus. Here, he asks that God will shower believers with grace, peace, and knowledge of the Holy Trinity.

“Do You Know God’s Faithfulness, Strength, and Guard Over You?”

Description: In 2 Thessalonians 3, Paul reminds us that God is always and completely faithful in all God says and does. With the Holy Spirit, you are guarded and strengthened to face the temptation that comes. When temptation does come, know the God will strengthen you to face it. Pray for an awareness of temptation before it gets strong and to be guided away from it.

“Is Your Focus on the Temporary or the Eternal?”

Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 4 that our focus throughout our lives should be on the eternal and unseen things of God rather than the temporary things of this life. While it is easy to focus on the things around us, they are bound to disappear and betray us. As we focus instead on the Kin-dom of God, which is eternal and filled with beauty, we can better withstand the trials of this life.
