The Lord truly met us on Saturday June 13, 2026 during our 7th Annual Mini Virtual Intercessory Prayer Retreat. We prayed for you as 1st Lady Evangelist Patricia Coons-Wallace opened with a prayer for communities, schools, families, and students. Missionary La-Kisha Niven's joined later to pray for church unity, spiritual growth, and wisdom for leaders and the nation. The group then participated in a Scripture Reflection Circle activity, focusing on Colossians 3:23, where participants were invited to share their reflections on doing work wholeheartedly for the Lord.
Work Heartily for the Lord - The meeting focused on discussing a scripture about doing work heartily as unto the Lord rather than for human approval. Minister Briggitte White shared how this scripture transformed her church's approach when they were small, and several participants including District Missionary Charmaine Geeter and Missionary Ingrid Eubanks emphasized the importance of doing all tasks with proper attitude and quality, noting that even seemingly small actions represent God. The conversation ended with Evangelist Patricia Campbell-Castro leading a unity prayer.
We then transitioned into a workshop led by Minister Briggitte White of New Life Christian Fellowship of Atlantic City. The workshop focused on the importance and mechanics of prayer. She discussed how prayer addresses life's problems and explained various aspects of prayer including communion, warfare, intercession, thanksgiving, and listening. The session included interactive elements where participants were encouraged to unmute and share their perspectives on prayer concepts. Briggitte emphasized that prayer changes both individuals and invites heaven into earth, noting that prayer is God's strategy for revival and humility. She emphasized that prayers should be done in private with genuine intent rather than to impress others, using Jesus as the ultimate example of prayer. The group read through the Lord's Prayer together, and Briggitte drew parallels between following a prayer pattern like cutting paper shapes or following a recipe to demonstrate how the Lord's Prayer serves as a model for all prayer. Participants including Evangelist Kassandra Sheridan Barnhill and others shared personal experiences and the importance of daily prayer. The conversation ended with District Missionary Charmaine Geeter sharing about finding a quiet mountain retreat for spiritual connection.
We then transitioned to a message from Missionary Ingrid Eubanks ESQ, Wells Memorial Church Of God In Christ, Greensboro NC, her topic: Hearing God's Voice. She explained the importance of God's Voice in prayer and faith, using biblical examples including Genesis 1 Samuel to illustrate how hearing God's voice requires both physical ability and spiritual recognition. She emphasized that hearing is essential for understanding and obeying God's guidance, sharing personal experiences about hearing God's direction in both religious and professional contexts. The session concluded with 1st Lady Evangelist Patricia Coons-Wallace announcing that 12 people attended and sharing a prayer from a Women's Leadership Conference, noting that the number 12 symbolizes divine government and spiritual completeness in the Bible.
