Just a reminder, per cemetery rules, absolutely no permanent decorations are allowed, no glass/ceramic items. No live plants/shrubbery. The cemetery board will remove any and all items that are problematic for the adequate maintenance of our beautiful cemetery. Please remember, the board is comprised of volunteers dedicated to the upkeep of Brookshire Cemetery. Everyone have a happy and safe Memorial Day!

Brookshire Cemetery has served local families and the surrounding community since at least the 1860s and remains an active community cemetery today.

The cemetery is maintained entirely through volunteer effort, lot sales, and community support. Current funds are extremely limited, and donations are needed to help cover ongoing maintenance expenses such as mowing, upkeep, and preservation.

The Brookshire Cemetery Board is also working toward obtaining federal 501(c)(13) nonprofit cemetery recognition to help secure the cemetery’s long-term future and allow for tax-deductible donations.

If you would like to help preserve this historic cemetery for future generations, donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.

**ATTENTION**
In order to prepare for the mowing season, we will be cleaning up the cemetery tomorrow, April 23rd, 2022... We're not sure what time yet, but it will be before noon... We realize this is short notice, if you have cemetery decorations that you want saved, please try to get them... If you can't, please message this page, and we will save them for you in a designated area, but they will be disposed of if not collected 2 weeks prior to the Memorial Day holiday..

It's spring time again! I would like to notify everyone that in order to prepare for lawn care and the Memorial Day holiday, we will be conducting a small work day on Saturday, April 24th, 2021. Please be advised, any and all decorations that are on the cemetery WILL BE REMOVED AND DISPOSED OF. If you have a decoration that you want to keep, please collect it by noon on the 24th, as we're planning to start at around 1pm. If you're unable to collect decorations that you want to preserve, please message this page and let us know, we will be happy to help you out. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come out and lend a hand so that we can get ready for summer! We will also be planning a cemetery board meeting very soon, before Memorial day, please stay tuned to this page for more information!

**ATTENTION**
The Brookshire Cemetery Association has established a fully functional cemetery board. The board has met twice and are proposing official bylaws, and cemetery rules/regulations. This is necessary for the cemetery to function in a more efficient, legal manner. It's also the steps needed for possible expansion of our beautiful cemetery!
The board members are as follows:
President: Todd Humphrey
Vice President: Dean Gately
Secretary/Treasurer: Gale Tyler
Board Member: Bob Wilson
Board Member: Linda Humphrey.

The proposed bylaws and cemetery rules/regulations are attached to this post. All questions/comments are welcome! We would like to thank the board for the hard work of bringing organization to our cemetery, they're all volunteers who are donating time and money in order to keep our cemetery looking great, and functioning properly!

We would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Memorial Day holiday weekend! For those of you who are blessed to be members of our cemetery, we're thankful for the donations that are coming in. If you would like to donate, please don't hesitate to do so, we only ask that everyone donate $25/year to help us continue the outstanding upkeep of the cemetery.

We are happy to announce that we have a fully functional cemetery board, and very soon we will have official bylaws and cemetery rules in order to keep our beautiful cemetery looking great!

From cemetery overseer Todd Humphrey:
I received a voicemail on Sunday May 12th from someone who did not identify themselves, nor did they leave a callback number, proclaiming "shame on you" to me because the grass is overgrown in the cemetery. I would like to reassure everyone that the lawn mower has been notified, but due to the rain we've been receiving pretty much every day for the last month, the cemetery is much too soft and wet to be mowed. We're confident that conditions will improve this week so that it can be completed. Please understand that I share in your frustration about this, but I ask that everyone be patient, as it has been taken care of. Please feel free to message me directly, or message this page with any questions. Please do not call me if you're going to act rudly.

There has arisen a need to form a fully functional cemetery board for our beautiful cemetery. The board should consist only of members of the Brookshire Cemetery Association. Ruth oversaw our cemetery for several years after her brother, Olyn Wilson, passed away. She will be missed!
