Sunday marked the beginning of summer at Bridge City, and it felt like what church family should feel like: joyful, welcoming, honest, and full of room for people.

We gathered. We laughed. We heard stories. We celebrated what God is already doing among us. And we looked toward the summer ahead with one simple commitment:

When we say, “the joy of the Lord is our strength,” we are not saying life is always easy, or that believers never feel pain, pressure, grief, or disappointment. We are saying our strength does not come from perfect circumstances; it comes from knowing who God is! 🙌🏾

The joy of the Lord is deeper than happiness. Happiness can change with the day, the news, the diagnosis, the bank account, or the situation. But the joy God gives is rooted in His presence, His promises, His salvation, and His faithfulness!

This joy gives us the strength to keep praying.
Strength to keep believing.
Strength to keep serving.
Strength to keep trusting God when we do not understand.

The joy of the Lord does not deny what we are going through. It reminds us Who is going through it with us! 💙

Right now, God wants to interrupt those thoughts that have been racing through your mind. The ones that say that this is too much for you to handle, that you're not enough to do what you need to do, or that no matter what, you'll never amount to anything.

God wants to interrupt those things and remind you that you are His, that you are loved, that you have a purpose and a calling, and that this battle isn't yours; it's HIS! 🙌🏾

The Lord wants you to lean on Him, and tomorrow is your opportunity to stop trying to do everything on your own and do just that. Come worship with us tomorrow, and let the Spirit renew your mind so that you can stop getting caught up in the lies you've been led to believe and you can start enjoying and living in the freedom that Jesus has given you!

The gifts that God gives are only ours when we learn to surrender our lives to Him! 🙏🏾

We can't take His Spirit with the intent of using it to live our lives the way we want to. The Spirit of God is for those who've truly decided to give their lives to Christ, and if you want to see Him come alive in your life like never before, you've got to make the same decision!

Parents, your kids aren't going to fall in love with Jesus if they only engage with Him one hour a week on Sundays. They need YOU to show them what being a follower of Christ is all about! 🙏🏾

Read the Bible with them, pray with them, let them see you loving and serving other people, and get them involved in your walk on a daily basis! You don't need a big stage or great opportunity to make a difference for the Lord; God has given you the best opportunity you could hope for right in your own home! 💙

Could a stranger look at your life and see something different about you? As believers, we are called to live a life that is different from those around us. Jesus says that if we follow Him, we should bear fruit, meaning there should be evidence of the faith that we claim.

"I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." - John 15:5 📖

Our fruit is evident in how we respond to struggles, mistakes, and disappointments. Take a moment to examine your life, ask a friend, or seek God's guidance on the evidence of your faith.💙
